Two manuscripts of the ‘Nuwe Parzifal’, the original (Karlsruhe, Badische Landesbibl., Donaueschingen 97, the so-called ‘Rappoltsteiner Parzifal’) and its presumed (direct) copy (Rom, Bibl. Casanatense, Ms. 1409), are known. The article proves that the first hand of the Codex Casanatensis is identical with the main scribe of a group of manuscripts from a Franconian scriptorium of the fourteenth century. In this ‘Epenwerkstatt’ (Karin Schneider) works of Wolfram von Eschenbach and their adaptations and continuations were mainly copied.
