The ERC Synergy project EXPLO (‘Exploring the dynamics and causes of prehistoric land use change in the cradle of European farming’) aims at understanding human-environment relationships at the beginnings of agriculture in Southeastern Europe from the 7th millennium BC on. This is done through a highly interdisciplinary research approach, involving prehistoric archaeology, palaeoecology and bioarchaeology. The project is hosted by the Universities of Bern, Oxford and Thessaloniki and will be running for a total duration of 5 years (2019–24). Further information at https://exploproject.eu/
