One of the major challenges in evaluating sexual assault as a whole is defining what actions belonging inside and outside the classification. Before focusing on an explanation of sexual assault mitigating and aggravating factors, one must determine whether a conceptualization of sexual assault is based on the characteristics of the action or the social response.
