This data constitutes a convenience sample of 151 English-language cookie consent notices, collected between October 2020 and November 2021. A list of all sources is openly available, the dataset itself can be made available upon request.
This research is also informed by a broader, discourse ethnographic engagement with UX writers as the producers of these texts. This includes twenty semi-structured interviews with UX writers, engagements with online networking groups, participant observation at various professional events as well as countless casual conversations with UX writers about their work. For confidentiality reasons, the discourse ethnographic data cannot be made available.
