Endeavors to apply theological frameworks and concepts to the challenges of increased digitalization include reflections on online communities and liturgical forms, as well as on their anthropological impact. Struggling against the reduction of human persons to abstractions or fictional/ alternative identities, and looking at the ways of building community online, can we detect ways in which virtuality shapes its own spirit? Form a Christion perspective, what can we say about the work of the Holy Spirit in and through “virtual realities”? This research tries to put together insights on Pneumatology (mainly from Orthodox and Old Catholic perspective) and questions in “digital anthropology” in order to invite new articulations in today’s view of the Holy Spirit, the human spirit, and the process of “spiritualization”.
