This essay proposes three spiritual journeys to explore the inner space of the heart. It therefore argues for a spirituality of the heart - and consequently a heart-centered anthropology - bringing together insights from Latin and Greek Patristic source such as: Augustine of Hippo, Evagrius Ponticus, Macarius, Dindochus of Photike, Barsanuphius and John of Gaza, Philotheus of Sinai.
