Palynological investigations on the classical fossil turfs (Schieferkohlen) of the Glütschtal near Thun, of Mutten-Signau and of those of the upper hill regions of the Zürcher Oberland, as well as evaluations of deep technical borings at Meikirch near Bern and in the Glatttal, produced results, that form, to-day, a valid biostratigraphical system of the Younger Quaternary, which we submit to our Colleagues of Quaternary Research. It covers Holsteinian, Saalian, Eemian and Weichselian.
