Full text not available from this repository.In this review some basic aspects of the clinical presentation, the laboratory testing and the management of a child with a bleeding tendency are discussed. It should help the physician in making the decision whether a laboratory examination in a child with a history of bleedings is necessary or not. In addition, the most frequent mechanisms for a defective hemostasis are explained.
