How do young people in Switzerland make the transition from school to work and adult life? What difficulties do they encounter along the way, and which factors make the transition succeed – or fail? The data of the Swiss youth panel survey TREE are an excellent source to explore those questions. The twelve contributions (five each in English and German, two in French) to this reader give, on the one hand, an overview on the context and design of the project as well as its main results; on the other hand, they underline the interdisciplinarity and diversity of research approaches to which the TREE data lend themselves.
