Tagesschläfrigkeit und Tagesmüdigkeit betreffen mindestens 10–25% der Normalbevölkerung und können im Rahmen von internistischen, neurologischen und psychiatrischen Erkrankungen, als Nebenwirkung von Medikamenten/Drogen, aber auch bei primären Schlafstörungen (u.a. schlafbezogene Atemstörungen, Narkolepsie / andere zentrale Störungen mit Tagesschläfrigkeit) gesehen werden.
