Climate change and its impact have also become a central topic in school lessons. The historical Euro-Climhist climate database offers a look back at the climatic variations and extreme weather-related events during the past 700 years. This freely accessible online portal enables queries on daily and seasonal weather in Switzerland and selected regions in Europe and data series to illustrate long-term temperature and precipitation developments as well as phenological data such as snow cover, flowering, and harvest times that apply to project-based teaching.
