Full text not available from this repository. This article proposes a discussion on oral history in dance. Using examples of interviews conducted as part of a research project on the history of dance in Switzerland, it discusses the central aspects of the interview process and historiographical evaluation. The focus is on aspects of interaction and participation. Oral history is understood as an autobiographical format – in the sense of writing (graphy) the life (bio) of oneself (auto) – and at the same time collaborative. This relationship of tension makes oral history a method that is demanding and promising at the same time, which can contribute to a polyphonic, participatory, and procedural historiography of dance.
