Les œuvres de Michel Butor et de Bernard Noël se situent bien sûr bien après la crise de vers qui a bouleversé la versification à la fin du XIXe s., mais ils ont proposé des techniques poétiques particulièrement incorrectes en mettant volontairement à mal la versification – en «torturant» le sonnet (Noël) ou en présentant des vers d'une si évidente faiblesse (Butor) qu'elle cache en fait des déplacements fondamentaux de la poésie. L'incorrection stylistique et formelle se retourne en correction politique ou anthropologique.
