The film focuses on how people in Kyrgyzstan experience labor migration. Following the independence of Kyrgyzstan in 1991, migration has been mainly motivated by people’s quest for work and a better quality life. This migration generally goes from the south of the country to the northern capital Bishkek, the neighboring country Kazakhstan or more distant Russia. The documentary from 2008 traces the migration routes from the south of the country to urban destinations and explores the impact of migration.
