The article provides an application-oriented introduction to the Religious Self-Concept Grid (RSG). It is a variant of the Repertory Grid technique, which focuses on the religious or spiritual self-concept of a person. First, the method's earlier antecedents, the Self-Identity-Graphic (SIG) by Norris and Makhlouf-Norris (1976) and the Self-Concept Grid (SG) by Orklik (1979) are presented. Based on these, the Religious Self-Concept Grid (RSG) is introduced. Possibilities of interpretation are explained by means of two case studies of new Jehovah's Witnesses’ members. Finally, the possibilities of making the diagnostic potential of the RSG fruitful for therapeutic processes are discussed.
