Full text not available from this repository. (Request a copy)We examined how stress induced by women’s experienced lack of fit for leadership can compromise their success in job interviews. Women reported higher stress than men during an interview for a leadership position and performed more poorly. Moreover, interviewing for a leadership role emphasizing agency as compared to communality provoked greater physiological stress among women but not men.
