The study assessed how gender stereotypes manifest in verbal self-presentations of women and men in a hiring simulation paradigm. The dictionary-based language analysis of job interviews (N = 209) for leader positionS revealed that both the emphasis of a job position (agentic vs. communal) and candidates' gender impact the manifestation of agentic and communal expressions in job interviews.
