Quantitative Analysis of Archaeobotanical Datasets

Hostettler, Marco (14 November 2022). Quantitative Analysis of Archaeobotanical Datasets (Unpublished). In: Uppsala Archaeobotanical Group. Uppsala University.

The presentation deals with the multivariate statistical analysis of archaeobotanical legacy data. The analysis aims at revealing trends and changes in the importance of specific crops and other taxa from Bronze Age sites in Albania, North Macedonia and Greece. It reveals changes in the mix of dominant crops from the early to middle and late Bronze Ages. There is a major change in all different geographical locations from the EBA to the MBA, mainly linked to the appearance of millet in later stages. The later trajectories differ from site to site, suggesting local or regional preferences.
