hallerNet makes accessible knowledge networks in Switzerland in its European exchange during the transition from a Republic of Letters to a Scientific Community (1700-1850). As a data-centric edition platform, it combines extensive and highly interlinked metadata with digital editions. Starting from the Bernese polymath Albrecht von Haller (1708-1777) as central actor and name giver for the platform, hallerNet strives for a Swiss-wide perspective. The presentation describes the vision of how the transition to a more generic and Swiss-oriented platform should proceed.
