Full text not available from this repository. (Request a copy)We report the case of a 34-year old mother presenting in the emergency unit because of fever and odynophagia. Herpetic esophagitis with Herpes simplex virus primoinfection in a immunocompetent patient was diagnosed. The virus was transmitted by her own child which came to be hospitalised because of herpetic stomatitis. In the blood chemistry pancreas enzymes were elevated which we interpreted as herpetic pancreatitis because of coincidence with herpetic esophagitis.
