Children and young people who are aware and know their rights, are better protected against hazards and recognize that they have the right to protection and assistance. Recent research indicates that the knowledge on rights in childhood and adolescence is far still at a low level (see Ammann 2014). According to that it's about how children can be empowered to exercise their rights inside and outside the family, so that an effective and sustainable awareness for children's interests and rights can take place. The practical implementation is especially important for vulnerable children and young people who live under difficult conditions like poverty or war, in problematic family situations or are homeless. Furthermore affected are victims of child abuse or sexual abuse and those children living in different forms of out-of-home care; children who need special care, protection and support. This raises the question about the factors that should be considered for a successful application and implementation of children's rights and the environment, which facilitates the use of children of their rights. Considering the fact that there is neither the child nor the childhood, the paper provides an educational science perspective on the Rights of the Child and how these can be utilized for a frame of reference in terms of joint implementation. Cultural as well as systemic and dynamic factors should be thereby involved as the understanding and applicability of the rights from the child's point of view.
