The child rights discussion is based on the particular theoretical problem that although a child has been attributed as a subject, predominantly adults take the determining position. The subjectivity of children is thus restricted if their opinions are not taken into account. The extent to which Bildsamkeit represents a new perspective on the relationship between education and children’s rights, and why this also applies to elementary education, is therefore the purpose of this article. It becomes evident that education cannot take place without the child, and the entire process of education can be thought and described from the child’s perspective with Bildsamkeit.
