Full text not available from this repository.The article illustrates the fundamental stages of the study of the Italian language and literature at the University of Vilnius from its foundation in 1579 until 2015, when the Bachelor's degree in "Italian Philology" was founded (this is the first BA in Lithuania dedicated exclusively to the study of Italian language, culture, linguistics, and literature). The article also briefly retraces the history of the University of Vilnius and the relations between Italian and Lithuanian culture from the 16th to the 21st century.
