The empirical study aimed at analysing learning processes and learning outcomes during internship. Embedded into an elaborated research project on learning during internship, 46 student teachers wrote daily diaries and reported 620 subjective learning experiences. Qualitative content analysis of the diaries brought up a focus on the improvement of instruction (didactical competencies): the importance of the feedback of mentors and students in the classroom, the challenges to consider students' difficulties with academic tasks and to deal with student interruptive behaviour.
