Switzerland was one of the hotspots of the Russian political emigration in the years immediately before the revolution of 1905, with Geneva being one of the main centers of Russian émigré printing in the first years of the 20th century. Many of these imprints are now accessible in a digital collection on the Swiss platform e-rara.ch. These works originate from several special collections of the Schweizerische Osteuropabibliothek (Swiss Library of Eastern Europe) in Bern. Of special interest is the 'Davos Russian library’, a Russian-language library from the beginning of the 20th century whose holdings offer insights into the reading interests and activities of Russians in Switzerland before the October Revolution.
