The study provides in-depth research into and analysis of the importance and scope of the existing EU-Swiss bilateral agreements that are relevant to a future UK-Swiss trading relationship. It is this question that we answer overall, focusing on the economic, legal and political science dimensions of the question. The UK-Swiss trade and investment relationship provides the economic context and the main issues that matter, while the Swiss bilateral agreements with third countries provide the political science context. Within those two contextual parameters, the legal analysis evaluates how the agreements and other arrangements affect trade and investment between the UK and Switzerland.
