Atelier Héloïse: A European database on the digital history of universities and knowledge

Gubler, Kaspar (5 June 2024). Atelier Héloïse: A European database on the digital history of universities and knowledge (Unpublished). In: nodegoat day 2024. Universität Bern. 5. Juni 2024.

The ‘Atelier Héloïse’ is a European association of database projects dealing with the history of universities and knowledge from 1200 to 2000. The participating research projects have the common goal of feeding their research data into a standardised database and harmonising it. Currently, around 100,000 students and scholars are already recorded in this collaborative database. The consolidation of the data not only enables a simplified search for individuals, but also the individual compilation of groups of people and the visualisation of selected stages of life, such as geographical origin and places of study. This collaborative research database is implemented with the help of nodegoat. This platform is used both to import the data from the individual projects and to reconcile the data. The practical implementation and operation of the project will be explained in detail in the presentation.
